AUSTRALIA'S Museum of Flight has appealed to Shoalhaven City Council for a lifeline to ease its financial struggle.
Museum chairman Neil Ralph addressed a works and finance committee meeting this week.
The committee recommended the council provide $30,000 from its donations allocations funds for 2003-2004 and that resources to assist project management and marketing be provided. Recommendations will be considered at a council meeting on June 23.
Mr Ralph said bushfires in two Christmas-New Year holiday periods and drought had a negative impact on tourism. This and the collapse of a major sponsor, HIH Insurance, created financial woes.
